Find out how a Shore New Business Start Up Consultation can help you, by getting you registered and setting up your bookkeeping system! All for a fixed fee of £100.
There are three steps to a Start Up Consultation:
Step 1: initial consultation. We meet up to discuss the work that you intend do, we want to hear all about your plans, your hopes and your fears. Then we can work out what help you need from us. By the end of the meeting you will know:

The different business structures you could choose and the pros and cons of each (for instance, limited company or sole trader) |

What registrations are necessary e.g. for income tax (and if appropriate VAT and employing or subcontracting people) |
|
The different ways you might do this, such as on paper or using a computer spread sheet or accounting package |
|
What paperwork to keep and how to file it. This includes the information that your invoices must show. |
|
How to use financial information to help you in your plans for your business (do you know which of your lines is most profitable? Or what the profit is on the different products that you sell? If not, think how it might help you to have that information!) |
Step 2: system set up. We set up your bookkeeping system, which usually involves designing a personalised spread sheet or setting you up with a file to suit your needs in an accounting package (there are various excellent packages which are completely free to download and use, although if you decide to use some more advanced software, there would be at an extra charge to provide this or you could purchase it yourself). We can also put in place any HMRC registrations that are necessary and even form your limited company, if you need one (although this incurs an extra charge).
Step 3: ongoing support. Once your system is set up, we support you as you get up and running with using it. By telephone and email we can guide you through what to do, with 2 hours support included.
The Shore Start Up Consultation is designed to help you with the administration involved with starting out in business and completing your own books and can be especially helpful if you also plan to complete your own tax return. We won’t try to sell you any of our other services, although if you decide that you would like us to work for you again in the future we would of course be very happy to explore the other ways in which we can help you.
